IT'S BEEN DAYS

literal "days" closer to even MONTHS.

i apologize fellow blog loves, and sadly do not have an excuse reason enough for my absence. not anything that wouldn't sound like a regular same old "life got in the way" kind of excuse, that is.

i'm a bit rusty so forgive me...but i'm excited about this post! so much has happened in the past few months that i would love to ramble on and on about and i'm sure you would all thrive off such a thing {not} BUT i have been dying to announce this exciting news for WEEKS and i've finally received permission to publicly announce that i am FINALLY GOING TO BE AN AUNTIE :)

now, if you're anything like me, you jump the gun. like WAY before appropriate. and you start hand making little bows for your niece/nephew {they still won't know the gender for 2 more weeks} and buying every cute baby girl/boy onesie, booties, leggings, bows, beanies etc in sight!

here are just a few of my faves that i made and stay tuned for "how to" on these to die for no sew bows :)

CARRY ON

sometimes life gives you lemons, and sometimes with those lemons all you want to do is take them, cut them in half and squeeze the juice inside of an open wound. dramatic? a little bit...but sometimes i feel like that is the only way i will learn from those dang lemons and be able to look at them as a lesson/blessing. sometimes that is the only way i feel i might  fully heal

heal and carry on. that is the key here.

some of you may be thinking "Demi, you have gone mad!" while others will understand exactly what i am talking about.

i was talking to my sweet insightful mother the other night, i love conversations with that smart lady, she helps me realize everything and helps me to see things in a perspective i never thought possible.

i was telling her how happy i am. how happy i have become. and how grateful i am for that.

i began telling her that for once in my entire life, i truly understood waking up every day and feeling grateful to be alive, grateful for another day.

in this crazy world, where so many things are wrong, where there is so much bad, hurt, and pain, i am grateful to be living in he midst of it? you caught me....yup! i am eternally grateful for it.

grateful that i now have the ability to wake up, thank the Lord that i am alive and well, and to go out and try to make a difference, to strive to help every single person that i come in contact with every single day to see a glimpse of the happiness and love that i feel, in hopes that it will change the way those people may act or simply feel, themselves.

in the process of healing, there is nothing more liberating and mending than losing yourself in the service and care for others.

just remember, that it's the simple things in life that make life worth living for. so don't you dare ever stop counting those blessings of yours. live for the little things and you will feel blessed with so much more.

i hope you are all having a wonderful week and continue to do so.

KNOTTSBERRY WHAAA?

sooo as white trash and ghetto as this might sound, Blake and i have absolutely THRIVED on our annual passes to Knottsberry farm!

--no, we haven't become complete and total carnies. yet..

this place is SO much fun!
obviously Disneyland cannot and WILL not ever be beat.
but when your passes to the happiest place on earth is blacked out for the summer.
you have to improvise.

and improvise we did! best decision ever made? pretty close.
i have never gotten more of a thrill on roller coaster rides in my entire life than at this theme park!

plus they have THEE best little navajo trading stores! i know, i know, sounds so sketch!
but i found the best little gems at these places that can't be beat!
did i mention they have the best funnel cakes in town? yup.

i'm sold on this place. it has my heart.

..........at least until our passes to disneyland are good to use again this spring!
